Why
MatML in femML? |
ooo
Relationship |
MatML is a XML
variant for material properties specification. It has been under
development for a few years and it targets multiple industries for
facilitating the exchange of material properties. One of these
industries or domains of applications is the Finite Element
Industry. |
Beneficial Cooperation |
We at the femML effort
feel that since there is a a need for material properties specification
within the FEM context it would be be advantageous to utilize MatML as a
namespace for femML. |
Problem |
However, we have found out
that the current MatML specification does not support certain FEM related
requirements, (i.e. composite materials property definition and recursive
material properties definition) for the needs of the FEM community. |
Action |
We have proposed some
modifications as they can be found below and have submitted them for
consideration to the MarML group. |
